Shoshana Stopek

Hi there! I’m Shoshana.

If we haven’t met before, I’m an editor, author and creative leader.

I manage in-house content creation for a division of a leading global entertainment company. I make sure that our in-house content has the story, branding and sparkle it needs to connect with readers. I work on awesome brands like Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Supergirl, The Flash, Scooby-Doo, Looney Tunes, Tom and Jerry, and more.

I’ve overseen the editorial creation of 250+ titles (check out my portfolio). This is largely thanks to the incredible team of 25+ freelance writers, artists, designers and packagers who I hired, collaborated with, and cultivated meaningful relationships with so the books would rock.

I’m also passionate about community building and content strategy, and I spearheaded a digital cross-promotion strategy for our department.  Over the past three years, I’ve grown our online engagement over 200%. This has been really exciting to me because I’m proud of our content and I think great content should be shared and enjoyed.

I learned a lot about community building from starting my own blog a few years ago, mommy tech bytes, and from my experience being a LearnON! Blogger Ambassador to Common Sense Media.

So now you know a bit about my work experience.

Here’s more insight about who I am as a human:

My work ethic:

I believe in working hard, working smart, showing up with the best version of yourself and continuing to improve yourself.  I also believe in being a humanitarian, a leader, and a mentor who empowers others.

My mission:

I strive to create quality content, build meaningful relationships, and create deeper synergy between the two.

Wait, I’m not just an editor and writer…

My passions:

I am obsessed with technology!

I consider myself a film buff (yes, I just said “buff”). I have an MFA in Film from Boston University.

I read voraciously and scour Goodreads and the NYT, as well as BuzzFeed and TMZ. 😉 I have a BA in English Literature from Lafayette College.

I love a challenge and genuinely enjoy learning new things. (I taught myself photoshop and wordpress and they’re both coming in handy on this website.)

I’m a coffeeholic and like to indulge at least once a week with vanilla lattes (mmm).

On weekends I hit up my favorite hip-hop class that plays the hottest teen pop music. (My daughter finds this hilarious, but I swear I’ve got some moves.)

I’m also a Girl Scout Leader and founder of my daughter’s Daisy troop.

If you’re interested in learning more about me or how we can work together, please contact me here.

I’m open to networking, new opportunities, and freelance work.

I look forward to hearing from you!
